Becoming a Mentor
Anyone can apply to be a mentor. Mentors are people who have had life experience and enjoy giving their time and energy to young people.
M1 mentors are asked to:
- commit to a young person for a school year
- spend at least two hours per week during school terms with their mentee
- acquire a Government approved 'Working with Children Suitability Card'
- attend a free 20 hour mentor training course offered by the Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE.
To become a mentor, contact M1 and ask for an application pack or download the Mentor Application Form below. Applicants will be interviewed by a M1 team member, offering a chance to meet and talk more about what is involved with mentoring.
