Retirement now a reality for $1.2 million winner

Lifestyle Lottery 374 Prize HomeThe dream of retiring in comfort is now a reality for the winner of Lottery 374 who is selling his small business after winning a BoysTown Lotteries $1.2 million prize package.

The news couldn't have come at a better time for the winner who had just finished "a mongrel day at work" when he received the life-changing call from BoysTown Lotteries.

He was absolutely stunned to hear he'd won a prestige residence at Tewantin on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, a boutique apartment in Sydney's Central Business District, a Furniture and Electrical Package totaling $64,317, an Audi A3 Attraction valued at $42,200, $10,000 Gold Bullion and $5,000 QANTAS Travel.

He was initially so shocked to hear from BoysTown Lotteries' General Manager, Keith Coventry, that he refused to accept he'd won Lottery 374.

"I was a total 'Doubting Thomas' and disbelieved the entire call because I thought it was a mate playing a prank," the lucky winner explains.

It was only after he contacted a friend and asked him to confirm the Lottery results on BoysTown's website that he finally accepted he was the lucky winner.

"I then went and told my wife about all the wonderful things we'd won and she had a go at me for pulling her leg!" he says.

The winner and his wife say they were extremely tempted to live in the stunning contemporary residence they won in Tewantin but decided to trade it and their Sydney apartment for financial security in their hometown.

"Winning a BoysTown lottery has given us so much freedom," he explains. "We can now take it easy after a lifetime of hard work."

They are wasting no time enjoying their golden years with plans for a luxurious Pacific cruise later this year.

One thing's for sure, with BoysTown's $1.2 million prize package to come home to, there's plain sailing ahead!
