Parenting Help
When teenagers and young people become parents they may face a number of challenges, including social isolation and limited parenting and life skills.
To assist young parents in Deception Bay, Queensland BoysTown operates Glugor House, a parenting and early childhood development program.
The program provides assistance to both the parent and child in a safe, supportive and homelike environment. The parents take part in workshops covering parenting, self esteem, healthy relationships and communication, while their children have fun playing and joining in activities that aid their education and development.
In Port Pirie, South Australia, our Mum's Club meets once week for lunch and provides an informal, relaxed environment for young mothers to gather. They have some fun, enjoy the company of other mums and mums-to-be, talk to qualified midwives, share ideas and swap information.
